Civilians during the Battle: Stories of Women, Men, and Children with Licensed Battlefield Guides Chuck Burkell and Susan Strumello SOLD OUT
This is a half-day program. An easy walking program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. Individuals who have studied The Battle of Gettysburg know that the three days of war surrounding the town had an impact. But the stories and legacy of the citizens is often overlooked, and not appreciated by many. This presentation will provide historical interpretation with selected stories of women and men who became victims, and in some instances rose to heroic action, as a result of this Battle. There will be some moderate walking within the borough of Gettysburg. Join us for this remarkable story of how ordinary citizens saw their lives change within three days at Gettysburg, and how its aftermath altered the lives of many forever.
