Encounters with History: In Their Own Words with Licensed Battlefield Guide Darryl Roberts

This is a full-day indoor and outdoor program. A lecture will be held from 9 a.m. - noon in the Ford Education Center at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, followed by an outdoor program from 1-4 p.m.

Using diaries and other primary sources, join us to trace the lives of several soldiers prior to their arrival in Gettysburg and their participation in the Battle of Gettysburg. During the afternoon program, travel to the battlefield in the soldiers’ footsteps where they engaged in battle. You will hear first-hand accounts of what they experienced during this pivotal battle of the Civil War.
