The George Spangler Farm is currently closed for the season and will reopen in the summer of 2019.
The George Spangler Farm Civil War Field Hospital Site is the best surviving example of a farm used as a corps field hospital during the battle of Gettysburg. Open Friday-Sunday in the summer months and accessible via shuttle from the Visitor Center.

Living Historians from all over the U.S. create encampments at the farm each weekend, informing visitors about Civil War medicine and medical advancements that occurred through necessity.
The schedule of living history encampments for the 2019 summer season will be announced by the spring of 2019.
